Ascend Performance Materials to exhibit No-Shock® anti-static fiber at IFAI Expo 2016

Ascend Performance Materials will showcase its No-Shock® anti-static fiber at the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) Expo 2016 in Charlotte, North Carolina, Oct. 19-21. No-Shock® is a permanent, bi-component anti-static fiber for use in consumer, industrial and military apparel. The material is based on Ascend Performance Materials’ nylon 6,6 fiber, manufactured at the company’s facility in Pensacola, Florida.

“Fibers like No-Shock® are growing in demand because they offer customers in the uniform and apparel industries new clothing options that make their lives easier. No-Shock’s® bi-component fibers dissipate static, repel lint and dust, and improve drape and laundering results in garments,” said Harrie Schoots, business development manager for Ascend Performance Materials. “And because our fibers replace chemical finishes, our customers have the choice for a more environmentally-friendly option which lasts for the life of the garment.”

Ascend Performance Materials is a fully-integrated manufacturer of nylon 6,6-based fiber, nylon 6,6 resin, intermediate chemicals and dozens of specialty chemicals. Ascend’s fiber products are used in air bags, apparel, carpet, textiles and tire cord, among other applications.

Members of the Ascend sales team will be on hand throughout the show at booth A1349. IFAI Expo 2016 is one of the industry’s largest annual trade shows. More than 400 companies are expected to exhibit at the event this year.
