Ascend Performance Materials announces price increase for intermediate materials

Ascend Performance Materials announced today a price increase for a number of its intermediate materials, including acrylonitrile, hexamethylene diamine, adiponitrile and adipic acid. The price increase is due to the rise in raw material costs that are currently affecting Ascend’s business, according to John Ferguson, Ascend’s global business director, intermediate materials.

The price increase takes effect September 15, or as contracts allow, and includes the following materials and terms:

Acrylonitrile (AN) $0.13/lb As contracts allow
Non-contract business – price determined on an order-by-order basis
Hexamethylene Diamine (HMD) $0.14/lb As contracts allow
Non-contract business – price determined on an order-by-order basis
Adiponitrile (ADN) $0.14/lb As contracts allow
Non-contract business – price determined on an order-by-order basis
Adipic Acid (AA) $0.03/lb As contracts allow
Non-contract business – price determined on an order-by-order basis
