Ascend to present process efficient, high-performance Vydyne® PA66 solutions at Plastimagen

Ascend Performance Materials, the world’s largest fully integrated producer of nylon 6,6 resin, will showcase its high performance Vydyne® PA66 solutions for automotive, electrical and electronic, consumer and industrial, and cable ties at Plastimagen 2017. The company’s booth will feature compounds and resins with exceptional processing and end-product performance.

Among the applications on display in Ascend’s booth will be electrically neutral grades for electrical connectors; high-temperature and hydrolysis-resistant compounds for automotive applications; and impact-modified grades for connectors and cable jacketing.

Ascend will also highlight its newest nylon 6,6 product: Vydyne FR350J. Vydyne FR350J is an unreinforced, flame retardant nylon 6,6 for use in unattended appliance electrical connectors. It has the highest possible glow wire ignition temperature (GWIT) rating at 960°C at all thicknesses.

Finished parts made with Vydyne FR350J exhibit a best-in-class glow wire end product testing (GWEPT) of 775°C. It also has superior melt flow and requires lower pressure to fill molds; reducing cycle times and production costs. Vydyne FR350J has a wide processing window and is color stable for natural and colorable applications.

“Each of our products is designed with two priorities: processability and functionality,” said Juan Toro, business development manager for Latin America at Ascend. “Engineers and designers can count on Vydyne to help solve design problems, and processors and molders can count on productivity and material efficiency.”

Ascend will be at booth 2246 at Plastimagen 2017 in Mexico City from Nov. 7-10.
