Ascend to feature performance-improving solutions at Coatings Trends & Technologies 2017

Ascend Performance Materials, a global leader in the production of specialty plastics, fibers and chemicals, will feature a number of specialty chemicals designed to improve the performance, cost and environmental impact of paints, coatings, inks and adhesives at the Coatings Trends & Technologies conference this week.

Among Ascend’s specialty chemicals products, the company will be showcasing the following:

  • Hexatran is a unique trifunctional amine that improves cure time and chemical resistance in epoxies and can produce a nonyellowing isocyanate with superior chemical and weather resistance.
  • Hextranol E is an ultralow-VOC coalescing aid that produces superior film integrity at low loading levels, saving money without sacrificing performance. Hextranol E works with a variety of workhorse resins and on substrates with varying levels of porosity.

“Our focus is always on providing solutions to our customers’ challenges,” said Jamie Haseltine, a specialty chemicals product manager at Ascend. “Our chemistries are helping customers reduce environmental and health impacts while improving performance.”

Ascend will be at Coatings Trends & Technologies in Lombard, Illinois, from September 14 – 15, at booth 14.

Ascend’s specialty chemicals division manufactures FlexaTrac™ acids and esters, FlexaTram amines and FlexaTril™ nitriles. The company also offers several signature products, including Hexatran, Hextranol, Prionil™ and Trinohex™.
