Ascend Performance Materials to exhibit at VDI engineering conference

Ascend Performance Materials technical experts and sales team will showcase a range of its PA66 products for the automotive industry at the International Congress of Plastics In Automotive Engineering (VDI Conference) on March 29-30 in Mannheim, Germany. The company will display its latest technology produced to meet the changing needs of automotive OEMs, including materials that require enhanced resistance to hydrolysis, higher temperatures and chemicals.

Ascend’s Vydyne products deliver superior hydrolysis, chemical and heat resistance and are used in numerous automotive applications, including the following:

  • The new Vydyne® R530HR PA66 grade delivers “best-in-class” thermal and hydro-aging performance for demanding automotive cooling system applications.
  • For fuel-efficient turbocharged engines, Ascend’s Vydyne® PA66 HT-series provides high levels of resistance to property degradation after long term heat exposure.
  • The Vydyne® J Series including R515J, R530J and R535J includes a selection of electrically neutral, heat stabilized and glass-filled grades that offer enhanced flow for the molding of thin wall parts and improved productivity as well as high dielectric strength and dimensional stability for miniaturized applications such as connectors and other intricate components.

Ascend Performance Materials is the world’s largest fully-integrated producer of PA66 resin. In automotive, its polymer products are used under-the-hood, in cooling systems, in interior components, exterior components, and powertrain. Ascend’s PA66 fiber products are used in air bags and tire cord.
