Ascend to lift force majeure on HMD production
Ascend Performance Materials, the world’s largest fully integrated producer of nylon 6,6 resin, announced today it will lift the force majeure declared in January on production of hexamethylenediamine, or HMD, at its Decatur, Alabama, facility effective March 1, 2018. The company was forced to reduce production due to a severe cold weather system that impacted much of the southeastern United States.
Ascend is committed to being the most reliable supplier of HMD and adiponitrile, also known as ADN, in the world. The company is on track to complete its previously announced capacity expansion efforts by the end of year.
